Mission and Goals
Hostel Facility for Students:
Realising the vision of transforming the students into responsible citizens requires a holistic approach to the ideas of development. In order to achieve overall development of the students two hostel buildings at an estimated cost of 75,00,000 INR (75 Lakhs) each are proposed.
These hostels would enable the schools to ensure the education takes place beyond the classroom in the activities of the students. It is proposed to involve the students in diverse activities aimed at inculcating sense of commitment to group, build characters based on integrity and develop ideas on the importance of nation building. Further, the voluntary community based projects connected to the ecosystem around the hostel would provide ample opportunities for the students to explore their role in being a responsible member of the society. Issues related to environment, hygiene, self-discipline, and sensitivity to the needs of others would be focussed as indirect learning parameters among the students of the hostels.
Further, concepts such as ‘Athmanirbhar Bharat’ would be promoted among the students by encouraging them to find local solutions to the everyday challenges that they confront in the hostels. Importantly, students from socially and economically marginalised sections of the society would be given preference while allotting the hostel accommodation to students.
Setting of ITI:
With a view to promote employment opportunities for the rural students and women of the region, an ITI unit will be set up on campus. This would help the school to align its activities with the aspirations of Athmanirbhar Bharath and NEP. Skills development of the students would be the primary focus of the ITI.
The following skills will be focused under ITI initiative:
- Electrical and home appliance service
- Fashion designing and tailoring skills
- Expertise on the use of medical plants and skills in gradening/nursery
- Knowledge of organic farming and indigenous products
- Small scale industry – promotion of home products, repair of motor cycles
- Composting and eco bricks
Thrust on Multi-lingual Proficiency:
The school would promote multi-lingual efficiency among the students. It aims at making students adept in the use of languages such as Kannada, English and Sanskrit. A structured program on achieving multiple language proficiency will be designed.
Education without Fee:
Students of Lokmanya Tilak Higher Primary School and U S Nayak Kannada Medium High School would have access to quality education without any fee. Further, the associated requirement such as uniforms or reading materials would be made available freely to the students of socially and economically marginalised sections of the society.
Transport Facility:
Transport facility such as school buses will be made available to the students of the region by the school.
Eco-friendly Campus:
A special collaborative project to turn the campus ‘eco-friendly’ will be initiated by the schools involving students, parents and the community.
Cultural Learning Centre:
A cultural learning centre will be set up in the campus to promote a sense of cultural rootedness among the students. The centre will make efforts to introduce the local traditions and cultural forms to the students through various off the class activities and learning opportunities.
